BMW's stock exhaust system is so restrictive and makes this turbocharged engine sound like a tractor. I mean common the European car powerhouse couldn't add even a tad more grunt to its flagship 3 series. I guess that's why so many car nuts like myself have changed the exhaust on this car .The bespoke exhaust makes the rear end look so much more aggressive and more appealing the only problem I face now is that I can't for the sake of me keep the valves closed. Maybe in a month or two, I will try the off button..
This video will also showcase the sandblasted steel, which is an option for if you would like a bespoke order created for you. However, the polished steel offers a more aggressive tone than sandblasted steel. The main benefit of sandblasted steel is if you do a lot of off-road driving or you live on the coast. The coating on the exhaust that is applied protects against the corrosive elements not found in urban Australia. I installed this exhaust on the 328I because I'm an avid hiker and explorer. I travel to different hiking trails every week and constantly get rocks and stones hitting the underbody of the car. For most people, they don't take their cars out in the wilderness enough to see the benefit of the sandblasted steel. This not to say that the polished steel isn't high quality when upgrading the performance of your car its best to do a cost-benefit analysis. The sandblasting and the coating generally adds a $1000 to the exhaust system if you aren't going to reap the benefits of the extra protection why to bother paying more for something that can do the same thing at a cheaper cost. For example, the 340i in the coming days I will be installing a polished steel downpipe as well as a polished steel Valvetronic exhaust system. This car is only ever going to be driven on urban roads and the track. The louder and more cost-effective exhaust would suit it perfectly
